Living Out My Teens in Front of the Camera | Jack Griffo

Jack Griffo, star of Nickelodeon show "The Thundermans," came into the business at 16 years old. He was able to live through his teens doing what he loves. Griffo wanted to remind himself that he's a kid and that it's ok to act like one here and there, even though sometimes those choices might've gotten the better of him.

1st Portraits

The first photo was lit with 100% natural lighting. For the other 2, we added a diffuser on camera right to add highlight on his face.

2nd Studio Portraits

This one is a one-light setup. Just capturing his shadows and getting that Rembrandt look on his face really captured his natural essence.

3rd Studio Portraits

I started out with a simple 2 light setup. Set up the AD600 Pro with an AD-S65W attached. This created a nice glow on his face along with him highlights on the side of his body.

4th studio portraits

With this portrait, I just added another AD600 Pro with a smaller soft box. This gave Jack a mysterious feel on his portraits.

5th Studio Portrait

We channeled our Blade Runner feel for this portrait. I placed the light right above Tom but did something different. I purposefully crack my polarizer (Platinum Polarizer from Best Buy) to get a natural light flare. This gave us a nice glow that I was able to control by turning the polarizer left to right.

6th Studio Portraits

I love playing with the smoke machine. Love the blue tint matching his blue-toned sweater and back and the white coat gave him elegance on his look.
